OpenAI releases GPT-6.1 Terra for visual reasoning, computer use, writing and coding in ChatGPT Work, Codex and the API.
The closed model extends computer-use agents to a lower-cost tier. OpenAI reports stronger task performance than GPT-5.6 Terra and lower standard API prices. These are vendor evaluations, not independent validation. Launch access includes Plus, Pro, Enterprise and Edu in ChatGPT Work and Codex, with API access as gpt-6.1-terra.
