PRIMA trial reports improved central vision
Oct 20, 2025
A PRIMA retinal-implant study reports improved prosthetic visual acuity in 26 of 32 participants evaluated at 12 months, among people with geographic atrophy due to age-related macular degeneration.
The single-arm study enrolled 38 people. A subretinal chip paired with projection glasses translates images into electrical stimulation, linking microelectronics with functional vision.
