Waymo and Toyota announce a bZ4X autonomous fleet, with initial testing and validation planned in Japan in 2027. Toyota will assemble the vehicles and integrate Waymo hardware at its Takaoka plant.
The agreement builds on their April 2025 collaboration. Deployment in the United Kingdom and other Waymo markets is planned for later years. Testing is not the launch of passenger service; autonomous technology for personally owned Toyota vehicles remains exploratory.
